FAQ

  • What is your Mission Statement?

There is no Mission Statement. Over the years the Meetings have evolved a structure, that has become fairly stable, responding to attendees' suggestions.

  • How can I participate?

If you have had an interest in Gurdjieff's ideas for some time, you can participate by coming to the meetings, or making comments directly on the blog (click the "Comments" link at the end of every post). The blog is a free speech space for attendees or non attendees to contribute.

  • Do I need to say anything about myself if I attend?

No information is required. North London Gurdjieff Meetings respects participants privacy and questioning of new attendees is out of the remit of the Meetings. Participation in meetings is self-motivated.

  • Can I remove accounts of what I said during a Meeting from the blog?

Quoted remarks can be removed from the blog on request within four weeks of publication.

  • How can I respond to what I read in the blog?

Responses can be made as comments to posts on the website, or brought to the next meeting.

  • Why is the Meeting early on a Sunday morning?

It is not a social occasion, and there are no refreshments. The early time ensures that all who attend are dedicated to the purpose of the Meeting.

  • Are the Meetings affiliated to a Gurdjieff organisation?

The Meetings are not affiliated to any other Gurdjieff organisations or associations, spiritual or religious beliefs or practices. Advertising is out of the remit of the Meetings.

  • How can I subscribe to the blog by email?

Go to gurdjieffmeetings.com, enter your email address in the box to the right on the webpage, and click the Subscribe button. Follow the instructions to confirm.

  • Where do we meet?

At a community centre in North London. For further information, email: thework@gurdjieffmeetings.com.
